In a world where traditional career paths are being redefined, Tomorrow University and Escape the City have joined forces to revolutionize how people think about work and education. This exciting partnership is built on a shared vision of creating purpose-driven careers and empowering individuals to make a positive impact. Together, we are working to equip a global community with the skills, connections, and support needed to thrive in meaningful professions that align with their passions and values.

The story behind Escape The City

Founded in 2010 by Rob Symington and Dom Jackman, Escape the City emerged as a response to the disillusionment many professionals feel in unfulfilling corporate roles. Rob and Dom, both working corporate jobs in London, realized they were not alone in their desire for work that resonated with a deeper sense of purpose. This led them to create a platform that offered exciting job opportunities outside of the traditional corporate sphere—sparking a movement that has since connected over 500,000 members with more than 17,000 job opportunities from 13,000 purpose-driven employers.

Escape the City’s mission is clear: help people escape unfulfilling work and find careers that align with their values and passions.

Why our missions align

Both Tomorrow University and Escape the City share a common goal: to empower individuals to build careers with purpose. At Tomorrow University, we believe that education is a powerful tool for creating impactful change. Our programs, focused on sustainability, technology, and entrepreneurship, are designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to navigate the evolving landscape of work while making a positive difference in the world.

For Escape the City, the focus has always been on helping people find work that reflects their passions, autonomy, and desire for fulfillment. This is a mission that resonates deeply with us at Tomorrow University. Our curriculum, rooted in real-world challenges and hands-on experiences, aligns perfectly with the kind of career opportunities Escape the City promotes—roles that go beyond just making a living and instead help individuals live a life that matters.

The power of community

At the heart of both organizations is the belief in the strength of community. Escape the City has built a global network of professionals committed to finding meaningful work. At Tomorrow University, we foster a global community of learners, mentors, and industry partners, all driven by a shared mission to create change. By partnering, we’re creating a comprehensive ecosystem that supports individuals in finding their purpose and building meaningful careers.

Closing the circle: from career seeker to career creator

Rob Symington is a prime example of not only a purposeful career seeker but a purposeful career creator. He didn’t just escape a corporate career; he built a movement that helps others do the same. Through this partnership, we’re empowering individuals not just to seek out meaningful work but to create their own opportunities, shaping the future of work.
